(pro rata) (Subject to private practice agreement) Permanent part-time working 11.25 hours per week About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Gastroenterology Consultant to join our dynamic team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, ensuring the provision of effective and efficient services within the Gastroenterology Unit. You will offer specialist consultations, lead a collaborative team approach to clinical care, and supervise the clinical practice of junior medical officers. Your expertise will be integral in guiding the development of best practice models for patient management and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will contribute to the education and professional development of both undergraduate and postgraduate students, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. You will work closely with the Head of Unit (HOU) to plan, organise, and optimise the delivery of clinical services, ensuring the hospital meets its goals in quality and best practice standards. About You We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Gastroenterology Consultant to join our team. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following key qualities:
Qualifications & Registration : Specialist qualifications in Gastroenterology, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Australasia, and registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Clinical Expertise & Skills : High-level clinical skills in gastroenterology, including endoscopy, with strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making at both clinical and individual levels. Communication & Teamwork : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven experience in working within multidisciplinary teams and a commitment to patient-centred care. Commitment to Education & Development : A passion for teaching, continuous learning, and contributing to the ongoing development of the team, along with a strong focus on quality management and safety in healthcare.
