About the role
Opportunity currently exists for a Cook to Join our Vegetarian Indian Restaurant, NSW. The position is fulltime.
•Cooks prepare, season and cook food in the kitchen.
•Preparing and cooking food, seasoning and portioning dishes as per the Menu of the Savariya restaurant.
•Prepare different specialty cuisine like Rajasthani food, South Indian(Dosa,Idly and vada), Gujarati, Kathiawadi, Punjabi and Bombay Street Food.
•Should be able to make different authentic vegetarian curries for Thali and other curries from Menu.
•Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
•Discussing food preparation issues with Chef and Managers.
•Prepares specialty/festive sweets(Dessert) such as Ghewar, Gulab Jamun, Burfi, Jalebi, Different types of Halwa and other traditional Indian sweets.
•Candidate should be able to prepare different types of breads on tandoor(Naan), Puris and Paratha’s.
•Preparing ingredients as per the Chef instructions and requirement on a daily basis.
•Examining food to ensure quality.
•Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes.
•Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities to ensure ingredients are stored appropriately.
•Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements as per customer request.
•Will be required to assist the chef with menus and estimate food requirements.
•Will be required to train any junior staff and monitor the kitchen hand as required.
Required Skills –
-The candidate holds a relevant qualification. (Cert3/4 in Hospitality)
- 2-3 years’ work experience in a busy restaurant
- Knowledge of ingredients and recipes
- Ability to perform duties without supervision.
- Be able to work in busy environment
