It offers emotional support and genuine connection from someone who gets it — someone who's been there.As a non-crisis, non-clinical service, Warmline provides a safe space where people can speak with a trained peer worker who uses their own lived experience to offer empathy, hope, and understanding.Whether a person is in distress, grieving, or navigating life with suicidality, Warmline meets them where they are.
Support is available seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, with the option of one-off or ongoing scheduled calls.About the RoleYou will provide compassionate, phone-based support to people seeking connection and understanding.
Your own recovery journey and lived experience will be at the heart of the work — offering participants a space where they feel validated, safe, heard, and respected.Key responsibilities: Responding to initial call and conducting scheduled support callsHolding non-judgmental, peer-based conversations that support to validate and empower participantsSupporting participants to develop personalised coping strategies and safety plansExploring distress, identifying strengths, and promoting wellbeing through shared experienceWorking closely with the Suicide Prevention Team Leader to ensure participants are matched and supported appropriatelyShift DetailsThis is a part-time position (20 hours/week), with the following hours:Monday to Wednesday: 1:30pm – 7:00pmSaturday: 10:00am – 3:30pm (penalty rates apply)This is an office-based role and can be in Gympie, Rockhampton, Emerald, or Hervey Bay.About youYou are someone with the ability to connect deeply and authentically through shared experience.
