An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Project Engineer to join our client AGL to be part of a dedicated team overseeing the closure, decommissioning, and separation of a major industrial facility at Torrens Island. This role will play a crucial part in developing the technical scopes of work, coordinating engineering input, and ensuring the safe and effective execution of decommissioning and separation activities. This is a 12-month contract role based at Torrens Island, offering a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a major decommissioning and separation project. Key Responsibilities: Engineering Scope Development: • Work with the decommissioning planner to identify plant for decommissioning or separation. • Develop engineering solutions to ensure the safe and effective execution of decommissioning and separation works. • Oversee the dismantling, removal, and disposal of equipment and materials. • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments. Project Management & Documentation: • Develop technical drawings, specifications, and documentation. • Prepare separation and dismantling instructions for on-site and third-party execution. • Create quality assurance documentation for decommissioning and separation activities. • Ensure management of change processes are implemented and followed. • Prepare management of change proposals for operational team review. Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance: • Collaborate with operational engineers and maintenance staff to ensure compliance with site standards. • Ensure decommissioning activities do not impact remaining site services and tenants. • Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation and engineering standards. • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Teamwork & Leadership: • Foster a collaborative team environment, contributing to continuous improvement and supporting team members. • Exhibit professionalism and model strong values in all internal and external engagements. About You: To be successful in this role, you will have: • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline). • Proven experience in decommissioning, separation, or industrial projects. • Strong project management experience and familiarity with project management principles. • Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and documentation. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • A proactive and solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail. • Able to asses and deliver complex solutions across several engineering disciplines.
