The THS Community Health Social Work (CHSW) North team delivers evidence-based social work services to regional and community-based clients affected by psychosocial health issues. We are based at Community Health Centres and District Hospitals across Northern Tasmania, focusing on assisting individuals to build capacity and resilience to self-manage their health issues, as well as support sustainable community-driven groups, programs, and partnerships.
The Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of evidence-based and trauma-informed Social Work services with community clients and groups at our Launceston based Community Health Centres.
You will need:
Extensive experience in:
Psychosocial assessment and care planning Therapeutic counselling and intervention Groupwork and/or program development aligned with Primary Health principles Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part-time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, 30 April 2025 until 30 April 2026. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022. Salary Packaging:
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers. Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW. Full member of Australian Association of Social Workers. Current Driver's Licence. Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
