EL2 Director Scheme Claims and Payments Branch Opportunities Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 680,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits The Scheme Claims and Payments Branch plays a pivotal role within the NDIA, facilitating NDIS payments by designing ICT systems and resolving payment enquiries lodged by NDIS-registered providers and self-managed participants. Our mission is to ensure all NDIS payments are processed accurately, efficiently and in compliance with governance requirements, supporting the financial integrity of the NDIS.

Responsibilities of the role may include:
Leading a large operational team to achieve objectives, driving operational excellence, and promoting a culture of accountability, positivity, and cohesion. Leading initiatives and providing strategic and tactical guidance to improve systems, processes, and service delivery outcomes. Delivering training programs and other learning opportunities to support capability development. Providing high-level advice and guidance to the Branch Manager to support the delivery of strategic and operational business planning activities. Responsibilities of the role may include:
Leading initiatives from design to delivery, providing strategic and tactical guidance to achieve objectives. Providing high-level advice to support the delivery of key business objectives, including strategic, tactical and operational business activities. Identifying, designing, and leading innovative solutions to deliver business objectives. Reporting on program objectives, outcomes, and work area performance to key stakeholders including the NDIS Board and NDIA's senior leadership team. Director Service Design and System Improvement
Responsibilities of the role may include:
Ensuring NDIS participants and registered providers have access to world leading claiming and payment systems and processes. Leading NDIS Information and Communication (ICT) system-based initiatives from design to delivery and providing strategic and tactical guidance to improve internal and external service outcomes. Ensuring ICT systems and controls comply with legislation, policies, and governance frameworks to maintain strong financial and system integrity. Identifying and implementing initiatives to enhance NDIS claiming and payment systems, workflows, and overall outcomes. Driving system enhancements, including defect resolution and change impacts, aligning initiatives with NDIA and branch priorities and operational goals. Enough about us, let's talk about you Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of payment systems and financial processes, and bring enthusiasm and dedication to ensuring NDIS payments are accurate, efficient and aligned with the NDIA's purpose. They will have demonstrated leadership qualities or delivered service excellence, embrace diversity and hold a deep understanding of people, their perspectives, and motivations. They will have experience in coordinating and leading highly complex or sensitive projects, possess strong attention to detail and demonstrate an agile and proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues and risks as they arise.

We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
