About Us: The South East Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA), a program of Monash Health, has the responsibility in the Southern Region of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing for: The provision and development of effective services to victim/survivors and associated people affected by sexual assault and family violence The provision and development of effective services for children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours. The provision of public education and professional training on sexual assault and anti-violence issues Social planning and processes related to reducing societal violence These services are provided in the Southern Metropolitan Region that includes the south-eastern metropolitan region of Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula, the Greater Dandenong area and Cardinia and Casey Shires. The service operates in various locations around the region including Dandenong, Cranbourne, Frankston, McCrae, Hastings, Pakenham and East Bentleigh. A Crisis Care Unit is located at the Clayton Campus of Monash Medical Centre. At SECASA you are required to include and celebrate differences such as gender, age, culture, disability, sexual orientation and religion About the Role: Join our team as a senior clinician responsible for the development and co-ordination of the SECASA groups program on a part time (3 days per week), ongoing to work based at Dandenong but expected to rotate across all SECASA main sites. Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services, this position provides the coordination, development, delivery and overarching governance for all groups offered across SECASA. The position provides high quality trauma focused counselling and therapeutic interventions within the group work setting, driven by frameworks of intersectionality, gender equality, anti-oppression, and a human rights-based approach. The position requires a constructive and collaborative approach to working where relevant with clients, their families and key agencies, within the scope of relevant legislation and professional guidelines. You will work in partnership, and collaborate, with the SECASA leadership team, Counsellor Advocates, Expressive Therapies (music and art) in the design, development and delivery that supports all group work activities. You will also be responsible for exploring additional and alternate evidence-based practice modalities and group work therapies. About You: To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: Demonstrated experience in providing therapeutic group work Demonstrated experienced in developing and evaluating a range of therapeutic groups Demonstrated experience working with children and/or adults who have experienced trauma related to sexual assault and/or family violence Demonstrated project, budgeting, research and evaluation skills necessary to identify best practice in therapeutic group interventions for people who have experienced trauma Capabilities in grant applications, including identifying grants, writing applications and successful attainment Mandatory requirements: A current qualification as a Health Professional (Art Therapist, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work or Psychology) at the Grade 3 level, including national and/or state registration in the relevant discipline (where applicable) Current general registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) AHPRA A minimum 7 years’ experience as a qualified Social Worker A minimum of five years’ experience as a generally registered psychologist In Return Flexible working hours Investment in professional development Participate and continue to drive evidence-based practice and be involved in one of the multiple research projects occurring at SECASA For a confidential discussion and to explore the opportunity further, please call Amanda Parkinson, Manager – Sexual Assault and Family Violence Support, SECASA on 9928 8741.
