About the RoleReporting to the Senior Manager of Legal and Commercial Australia, you will deliver day-to-day service to the Australian operations team for a portfolio of underground mining projects across Australia.Key AccountabilitiesResponsible for provision of contract and strategic commercial advice across a portfolio of underground mining Contracts.Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of project controls and contract management processes.Utilising project controls, support the site, operations, and senior management teams to understand the financial and physical progress of each project in the underground portfolio across its life.Provide support in the negotiation and management of contract claims, variations, delay claims, and disputes across new and existing projects.Draft, finalise, and issue contract-related correspondence.Assist in the management of subcontract and supply tenders, contracts, and commercial documents, and prepare contract non-conformance submissions.Evaluate commercial-related risks and opportunities and ensure these are mitigated by contract terms and conditions or operational controls.Ensure commercial management activities are conducted in accordance with Perenti's governance framework.Uphold documentation standards by ensuring contract documentation is properly completed and executed and that sufficient and appropriate records and registers are kept.Ensure that the business unit/project stakeholders are aware of contract requirements including undertaking regular training and assist them to address performance.Review and improve or implement contract management processes to ensure contractual obligations are met and rights/entitlements are able to be applied.Key RequirementsDemonstrate strong commercial acumen and interest in learning Perenti's contract mining business.Business, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or Law Degree qualified with demonstrable functional specialist experience in contract/commercial management.Strong front-end contract negotiation and contract management experience and technical skill, including client engagement in contract formation and contract management.Previous experience in mining, construction, or similar heavy industry with a contractor is highly preferred.Highly developed written and oral communications skills are essential.Ability to travel and attend client mine sites.Police clearance and medical clearance to mine site visitor level.Why Barminco?A full-time, permanent, salaried position.Generous remuneration packages.Future opportunities to work internationally within the business.Employee discounts and perks on health insurance, entertainment, technology, travel, and retail stores along with complimentary tickets to sport and entertainment events.Career support and progression within a global mining services company.At Perenti, we are committed to being a streamlined, connected, global leader in contract mining.
