That’s refreshing.The Operations Lead will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of a major service delivery transition program by overseeing day-to-day project management activities across two key workstreams: General facilities and infrastructure, and Works management processes.Reporting to the Program Implementation Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring that activities and resources are prioritised and directed to deliver the project outcomes and ensure key milestones and deliverables for these workstreams are met.The Operations Lead will lead engagement with the workstream delivery team daily; monitor workstream progress and health; identify risks, issues, and key dependencies with other workstreams; and provide timely updates to senior stakeholders.With a hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Distribution | Network Operations & Delivery team.This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:Project management and coordination: Collaborate across the project team and with external stakeholders to develop the integrated project schedule and oversee day-to-day project management to ensure all activities are progressing according to the plan. Maintain and update project schedules, coordinating with workstream leads to track deliverables, dependencies, and timelines.Monitoring and reporting: Track and report on overall project health, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality metrics in relation to the two workstreams. Develop and deliver progress status updates to the Program Implementation Manager and senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, issues, and areas needing attention. Support the Program Implementation Manager to develop Executive and Board progress updates.Risk and issue management: Proactively identify, document, and manage project risks and issues, working with delivery workstreams and the project team to develop mitigation strategies. Escalate critical risks as appropriate to maintain project momentum.Stakeholder engagement and communication: Act as the central point of contact for key workstreams, facilitating communication and collaboration across teams. Ensure key stakeholders are kept informed of project progress, changes, and decisions that may impact delivering the broader project objectives.Act as central coordination for the infrastructure and works management workstream to ensure scope and objectives are delivered.Align with operations control room to ensure faults dispatch processes align with the new service delivery partner, and resources have adequate capacity and training.You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:Experience in operations and maintenance (O&M) processes, particularly within electricity distribution, including works planning, contract management, and field operations management. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple cross-functional teams is highly desirable.Demonstrated leadership experience, managing cross-functional teams in an operations environment, with the ability to work collaboratively and influence key stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes.Proven ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within operational teams.High-level communication, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience interacting with internal teams (e.g., operations, engineering) and external contractors and service providers.Demonstrated ability to solve complex operational problems related to O&M works or facilities logistics, with a strong focus on continuous service improvement and operational reliability.High attention to detail and strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritising work, and maintaining accurate project documentation in a dynamic environment.Experience in service model transformation, vendor management, or similar transformation initiatives is preferred, particularly in sectors like energy, utilities, or infrastructure.A real place to belong.We celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives, and diversity in our team.
