As a community we value: co-operation, courtesy, commitment, consideration and challenge.About the Role The Head of Department - Student Services for Year 11/12 will lead the implementation of support systems specifically designed for senior students, driving initiatives that enhance wellbeing and engagement. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the senior cohort, developing tailored strategies to address individual academic and personal needs, and fostering positive relationships among students, staff, and the broader community. Through your leadership, you will cultivate an inclusive environment where students feel supported and empowered to thrive during these critical phases of their educational journey.As Head of Student Services, your role will include: Implementing programs that support student wellbeing and academic success tailored for Year 11 and 12 students.Developing and refining individual support plans that respond to the unique needs of each student in the senior phase.Engaging with the wider school community, including parents and external agencies, to ensure comprehensive support for all senior students.Promoting initiatives that foster a respectful and encouraging school culture, recognising student achievements and contributions.Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of the school's Annual Improvement Plan (AIP) for student engagement, wellbeing, and academic performance through a multi-tiered support system.Support students' academic progress by developing and implementing proactive wellbeing initiatives and intervention strategies.Address student behaviour and performance concerns in alignment with the school's Student Code of Conduct.Work closely with Heads of Department, Senior Schooling HOD and the student support services team to ensure all students are included and supported.Lead the development and implementation of strategies that promote a positive school culture and enhance student wellbeing.Qualifications and Experience: Proven leadership experience with a focus on student engagement, wellbeing or academic improvement within the senior school.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with students, staff, and parents.Demonstrated ability to analyse data and implement evidence-based strategies to improve student outcomes.Capacity to lead and inspire staff in creating a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.Cavendish Road SHS offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where leadership is valued, and personal and professional growth is encouraged.
