Admin Officer | 3 month Contract $34.47 p/h + Super 3 month Contract Westmead About the Role As the Billing Admin Officer, you will play a critical role in reviewing of pathology request forms on a daily basis to ensure compliance is met, and the patient is billed correctly.
We are looking for someone who has high attention to detail, good communication skills, time management skills, and highly organised, and have the ability to navigate across multiple hospital systems.
Key accountabilities include: Invoice Processing and Preparation: Interpret and apply Medical Billing System item coding rules to ensure accurate invoice generation.
You will be required to make decisions on journal adjustments, item number modifications, and rebilling when necessary.
Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work alongside LIS programmers and other staff to identify solutions and process improvements related to MBS rules or system issues.
Enquiry Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing-related enquiries from patients, Local Health Districts (LHDs), external parties, and other stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
Billing System Management: Modify financial classifications within billing systems to maintain accuracy in invoicing.
Reporting & Monitoring: Run, process, and maintain electronic invoicing systems and monitor the receipt of payments and rejections from Health Funds and Medicare Australia.
Liaison and Communication: Act as a liaison with Medicare Australia, Health Funds, and both internal and external clients to ensure smooth operations and accurate invoicing.
Issue Reporting: Identify and report any anomalies or issues in electronic invoicing to senior staff that could impact invoice generation or payment receipts.
About You In-depth understanding of MBS item coding rules and pathology billing.
Previous experience in medical billing, invoicing, or financial management within a healthcare setting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with billing systems and the ability to modify financial classifications as required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in invoicing.
