About the Role
The Senior Transport Planner will support the Department's Land Use Strategy team in shaping the integration of state significant land use proposals with the current and future transport system.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with key industries, portfolio agencies, government agencies, local government, local communities, and transport stakeholders to ensure successful integrated transport planning.
* Formulate the Department's position, including in formal written submissions, and represent this in meetings with councils, planning authorities, developers, and landowners.
* Consider input from internal subject matter experts for strategic sites including intermodal freight terminals, airports, ports, and priority precincts.
* Provide direction post-approval of planning amendments, documenting outcomes and issues for Master Planning and Statutory Planning processes.
* Support the review of completed and future Precinct Structure Plans and Activity Centre Plans, addressing transport gaps and funding applications.
* B-build relationships and negotiate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure transport and land use plans reflect the Department's vision.
* Guide and mentor less experienced team members.

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory: Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related discipline.
