Financial & Asset Accounting OfficerProject & Asset Accounting Officer | Federal Government - Apply now!Your new companyA well-known Federal Government Department based in North Brisbane is seeking a skilled Project & Asset Accounting Officer to join their team on a 6-month basis with possible extension.Your new roleThe primary purpose of this role is to assist the Financial Accounting & Reporting team in the day-to-day management of Financial and Asset Accounting. The position provides direct support to the business in month-end processing, project forecast uploads, assisting with Work Break Down Structure maintenance in SAP and year-end audit requests.Support the Financial & Asset Accounting Senior Specialist by providing accurate, relevant, and timely information as needed.Perform month-end and year-end accounting tasks, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.Assist in maintaining Work Breakdown Structures in SAP and process project forecast uploads.Handle tasks related to staff departures.Create Purchase Orders and manage Goods Receipting.Contribute to statutory reporting requirements, including the preparation of annual financial statements and external audit documentation.Collaborate with the team to ensure all deliverables are met.Address ad-hoc queries and requests as they arise.What you'll need to succeedPrevious experience in a similar role related to Asset Accounting is required.Strong experience (+3 years) in the business and financial operations of a large organisation or accounting firm.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance or a related discipline with sound knowledge and practical application of accounting standards.CPA or CA Qualified.SAP system usage is essential.Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills are highly desirable.Due to this being a Federal Government role, you must be an Australian Citizen.What you'll get in return6-month contract with possible extension.Brisbane location.Day rate of $426.52 + super.Hybrid role, however, a minimum of 2-3 days is expected in the office, so this person must reside in Brisbane.The office location is North-Brisbane.Having your own transport is required.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click "apply now" or forward an up-to-date copy of your resume.
