: The ACT Parliamentary Counsel’s Office is seeking applications from qualified people for the above legislative drafting position. Assistant Parliamentary Counsel 3 ( APC3 ) is a is a narrower band, for lawyers who have had significant experiences in providing legislative drafting services in a specialised legislative drafting office.
The primary functions of an Assistant Parliamentary Counsel 3 (APC3) will be to:
1. Provide legislative drafting services and legislative advice in matters requiring a high level of expertise and judgment, to review the work of other drafters, and to take a leading role in PCO committees and drafting projects with significant impact.
2. Assist the parliamentary counsel in leadership, management and building capacity of PCO, including, as required, by developing and maintaining specialisation in an area of high relevance to the Territory’s drafting needs.
3. Please note this position may involve direct supervision of staff.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
4. Admission to practice as a legal practitioner of the ACT Supreme Court, the High Court, or the Supreme Court of a State or another Territory is required.
5. Experience with drafting bills and regulations is essential for APC3 positions.
