An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic dietitian who is able to work collaboratively, demonstrate flexibility, communicate effectively and support the Senior Dietitian.
Ashford Hospital offers a range of specialties including cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, general medicine, gynaecology and maternity, oncology, orthopaedics, urology and vascular surgery. Ashford Hospital has 9 operating theatres, 1 procedure room, 2 angiography labs, an emergency department, maternity services, 24/7 cardiac emergency centre and a 24 bed level 3 critical care unit.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Provision of dietetic services at Ashford Hospitals – some work at Flinders Private and The Memorial Hospital may be required
2. Liaison with visiting medical officers
3. Patient and family education
4. Discharge planning and referral on to external providers for follow-up care
5. Maintenance of medical records and clinical documentation
6. Involvement in multi-disciplinary team meetings
7. Involvement in department quality improvement activities
Minimum Requirements:
1. Eligibility for full registration with Dietitians Australia (DA)
2. Excellent time management and communication skills
3. Ability to manage and prioritise a busy and diverse clinical caseload
4. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
5. Ability to demonstrate initiative
6. Postgraduate clinical experience in an acute hospital setting
