Our client is an award winning, highly certified company that specialises in water flow grates and drainage systems. Elegance, efficiency and design have become a signature of both their product and their business, which is clearly apparent when selecting a stylised product perfect for any bathroom, pool area or entertaining area. They have been a member of various Australian standards committees to ensure that their product maintains its exceptionally high standard of architectural drainage.
As a dynamic and growing company specialising in the Building and Construction industry, we are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter and Turner to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work with well-maintained equipment suited for purpose and be part of a supportive, collaborative work environment.
This is a varied role involving multiple tasks, some of which may include:
* Operate, maintain and repair CNC machines to perform tasks according to specifications and requirements.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine sequences, tooling requirements, and dimensional specifications.
* Select appropriate tools and machine parameters for each job.
* Load materials into CNC machines and adjust machines (tool changes, offsets) as required.
* Monitor machine operations to maintain accuracy and quality, making necessary adjustments.
* Conduct routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and tool inspection.
* Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues such as tool breakage, wear, or product defects.
* Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and continuous improvement processes.
* Assist with other workshop duties as needed.
The ideal candidate may possess:
* Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter or significant experience.
* Experience in a manufacturing or production environment (advantageous).
* Strong knowledge of general metal shop equipment and tools.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Attention to detail with the ability to work precisely.
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues independently.
* Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Manual dexterity to assemble parts quickly and accurately.
