About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Speech Pathologist to join Primary and Community Health Speech Pathology team as a Senior Speech Pathologist - Paediatrics.
This position provides specialist clinical assessment and intervention services as part of the multidisciplinary Child Development Assessment Service.
What You'll be Doing
The Senior Speech Pathologist is responsible for providing specialist clinical assessment and expertise to the multidisciplinary Child Developmental Assessment Service in Primary and Community Health.
As a senior clinician the speech pathologist is responsible for overseeing, providing and evaluating an efficient and effective service through the application of clinical expertise and evidence based knowledge in the management of paediatric clients with a range of communication disorders as well as other complex developmental needs. This includes working as part of the multidisciplinary diagnostic team to support children with developmental conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurodevelopmental disorders, developmental delay, intellectual disability and complex learning difficulties associated with comorbidity.
They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement and health promotion initiatives, participation in service development and other administrative responsibilities as required.
The senior speech Pathologist will contribute to the teaching, research, and clinical practice advancement of the discipline of Speech Pathology in SWSLHD.

4. Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which is accredited as eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
5. Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or students.
6. Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
8. Demonstrated commitment to and experience implementing EBP and clinical education.
9. Advanced clinical knowledge and postgraduate experience and skills in diagnostic assessment and management of paediatric clients (ages1-12 years) with a variety of communication disorders and complex developmental needs.
10. Demonstrated strong commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork, and to collaboration with other services/organisations relevant to the care of the child.
11. Commitment to individual and team based professional development and lifelong learning.
12. Demonstrated skills required for working with vulnerable and complex families.
13. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
