Responsibilities
Analytics/Monitoring
1. Serve as a lead analyst conducting initial and on-going credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of corporates in Australia and New Zealand
2. Conduct quantitative assessment of financial statements and economic/market data, as well as intensive analysis of bond indentures, liquidity agreements, official statements and other legal documents.
3. Actively monitor portfolio and make rmendations for rating transitions in a timely fashion.
4. Formulate a cogent rating rationale and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion at ratingmittee, while leading themittee discussion.
5. Demonstrate rating judgment as evidenced by the ability to distinguish among different entities at different ratings levels.
Research
6. The lead analyst is expected to generate insightful and thought-provoking research reports on individualpanies and industry sectors. Balancing these research responsibilities with daily transaction and surveillance activity is a critical part of the job.
7. This role requires strong writing skills, the ability to articulateplex concepts in a clear andprehensible manner, and an in-depth knowledge of the subject matter.
Issuer/Investor Relations
8. Build and maintain high profile relationships with senior corporate executives, investors and intermediaries, interacting frequently based upon industry and topical research written.
9. Develop Moody's franchise through investor and intermediary outreach, including visibility initiatives such as media interviews and conference participation.
10. Lead issuer meetings, including presenting key rating factors effectively and asking probing questions that result in substantive dialog about key credit issues.
11. Present credits effectively andprehensively in ratingmittees and other internal analytical meetings.
12. Coach and develop junior analysts and support associates.
Qualifications
13. Graduate in finance, banking, economics or related discipline with postgraduate qualifications strongly desired. CIMA/ACCA/CFA professional qualification would be highly beneficial.
14. A minimum of 5 or more years of relevant analytical experience preferably with a financial institution, predominantly in a credit role.
15. Well-developed analytical skills.
16. Strong written and oralmunication capabilities. Previous experience writing research would be advantageous.
17. Ability to manage multiplepeting priorities within deadlines.
18. Strong abilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
