About the Opportunity
We have 2 new roles for Quality Control Mechanical & Goods Inward Inspectors based at our Osborne Naval Shipyard Offices. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting daily surveillance/visual inspections to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, workmanship standards, and specifications.
* Reviewing and monitoring quality records to guarantee acceptance by the customer.
* Providing quality support and guidance to other departments while promoting open communication and problem-solving.
* Mentoring and coaching production staff and suppliers on required workmanship standards.
* Reporting and managing nonconforming issues in accordance with processes.
* Ensuring all objective quality evidence is complete and accurate upon review and completion of scopes of work.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* Australian citizenship and eligibility for a defence security clearance.
* Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Mechanical & General Quality disciplines.
* Internal auditor certification and/or previous experience leading audits (desirable).
* Maritime / Ship building or Maintenance experience (desirable).
* Demonstrated experience in a large production/operation environment.
* Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, and Visio.
* A strong understanding and knowledge of quality assurance standards.
* Strong communication and negotiating skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
