About the program The Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) is a state wide program that supports people with a severe mental illness to live and recover in the community in the way that they want to. HASI is part of a suite of community-based psychosocial programs for adults called the NSW Mental Health Community Living Programs. HASI provides psychosocial supports that help people build independence in daily life and contribute to recovery. The types of support people receive depends on their individual needs and own unique goals for what they want to achieve. HASI helps people identify goals and work towards meeting those goals by providing support in collaboration with Community Mental Health clinical teams. About the role Wellways is seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation and Recovery Worker to join their team and support individuals affected by mental illness. In this role, you will help participants identify their goals and aspirations, develop personalized recovery plans, and provide direct, practical support to help them regain and improve essential life skills, including self-management. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with participants, their families, and communities to build natural supports for sustained recovery. Advocating for equal rights and community participation for people living with mental illness. Working as part of an integrated team to ensure continuous, seamless support, including after hours and during weekends or holidays. Accurately recording participant data and maintaining necessary documentation, such as recovery and risk assessments. You will also be required to travel across the region, with occasional overnight stays. The role is central to Wellways' mission to improve wellbeing and create communities that value and support individuals living with mental illness.
