The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for engaging across a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders to design, plan and implement anywhere from ten to twenty data integration and technical consulting projects at any time from concept through to operational handover.
Key Accountabilities include:
1. Develop a deep understanding of how the technical environment and tools operate and serves data publishers, data consumers, developers and the general public
2. Work using a defined process to elicit and convert requirements into high quality requirements and design documents
3. Confidently use project management methods to manage projects with competing priorities
4. Take ownership of and deliver high quality project articles to maintain stakeholder confidence and ensure projects stay on-track
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
5. Expert technical workshop facilitation and requirements elicitation
6. Expert stakeholder engagement skills to build and maintain relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders from across government.
7. Expert project management skills to manage multiple projects concurrently to conclusion
8. Proficient in technical solution development experience to understand how the Platform's capabilities can be applied to micro-services data integrations and where custom solution development may be required.
9. Strategic planning and analysis - understanding the strategic aims of Digital Integration Services and how individual integrations align to strategic aims
Technical expertise
10. Experience in the design or delivery of API or other digital integration solutions
11. Experience facilitating workshops regarding Cloud based integration architectures to uncover business outcomes and ensure integration plans are aligned to Government Outcomes.
