Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented PROJECT MANAGER/DESIGN ENGINEER to join their team based in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. About the Role: As the Project Manager/Design Engineer, you will be pivotal in driving projects from initial concept and design through to successful completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. You will use your design engineering expertise to develop innovative and practical solutions, while also effectively managing all aspects of the project lifecycle and client relationships. Responsibilities: To deliver projects on time and on budget - leading and managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, including design engineering and client liaison. Responding to tenders and preparing competitive quotes, incorporating design considerations. Managing projects comprehensively from tender to completion, including detailed project scoping, conducting on-site measurements, overseeing and checking purchasing, and monitoring manufacturing progress. Performing design engineering and drafting of equipment and system components. Serving as the primary point of contact for customers, effectively managing any project changes and/or additions. Maintaining accurate records of drafting times for all projects. Managing the install and commissioning phases of projects as required. Design engineering and drafting. Liaising with customers - managing any changes and/or additions to the project Reporting to the Managing Director (MD) and General Manager (GM) on the performance of projects, including design-related aspects. About you: Degree qualified in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Experience in process engineering is highly desirable. Experience in a similar role is required - at least 2+ years of experience A strong interest in seeing designs progress from concept to physical reality. Proven experience working within heavy manufacturing (fabrication or machinery). Exposure to the wastewater treatment or agricultural/food manufacturing sectors is beneficial (especially with equipment engineering experience). Proactive and results-oriented approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong project management abilities. Ability to manage projects from initial concept to successful implementation. Sound like the right role for you?
