8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth or DIDO ex Port HedlandThe role of the Senior Mechanical Engineer is to provide technical support using initiatives and applying engineering techniques, data analysis, improvement projects and defect elimination for the operational Ore Processing Facility.The role also entails leading a small team of Mechanical Engineers to prioritise manage their day-to-day work and provide ad hoc supervision to the CHF Engineering team/cover department Superintendent.Key Responsibilities
Maintain focus on team objectives and provide technical/problem solving guidance to EngineersProvide ad hoc Engineering and Reliability Superintendent coverage for weekendsPerformance manage delegates and promote good team cultureLiaison with relevant departments to provide technical solutionsManage the development and execution of short to medium term operational projectsComplete 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis for plant downtime eventsShort term Maintenance Strategies management and SWI developmentsCritical Spares management supportEnsure correct application of Health & Safety standards including Change ManagementMonitor quality assurance of critical processesAchieve targets set for defined sections of area budgetsQualifications and Experience
At least 5 years fixed plant experience in an Engineering and/or Projects roleTertiary Qualification in Mechanical EngineeringPrior experience leading a teamMining experience in hard rock applicationsPrior experience with vibrating screens, crushers, centrifugal slurry pumps, conveyors, chutes, baghouses and cyclones.Knowledge of relevant Mines legislations and regulationsKnowledge of computer management systems, including SAPAbout Us
