Reporting to the Supervisor Port Maintenance Execution at BMA Hay Point Terminal, as a Terminal Maintenance Electrical Tradesperson you will be responsible for performing routine online, offline and shutdown maintenance tasks on a range of fixed plant and Port Infrastructure as well as providing planning and technical input to ensure the safe delivery of department objectives.
The Technician Fixed Plant Electrical roles are based in the Mackay Region at the BMA Hay Point Coal Terminal Site, working a 4/3 Day Roster. The role is Dayshift only (with the possibility that some nightshift may be required if requested or for future crew openings). This is a great roster, Mackay and surrounds offers excellent lifestyle opportunities and development opportunities are on offer. This role is a residentially located role (no FIFO).
In this role you will:
Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day.
Complete allocated planned maintenance tasks.
Undertake unplanned or breakdown maintenance tasks including problem solving, fault finding and diagnosis.
Provide feedback to the maintenance supervisor on job progress.
Undertake assigned improvement projects.
Work with your team to a high level of accountability and be able to build proactive relationships across all site teams.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a relevant trade qualification - Electrical.
Proven maintenance experience in Fixed Plant maintenance.
Your active focus on safety, drive and passion to improve will see you succeed in this role.
Your people and communication skills are of the utmost importance, as well as your relationship skills when liaising, negotiating and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Previous experience with 1SAP will be beneficial.
The nature of the role requires you to be a forward thinker and focused on process discipline.
A background in planned maintenance teams with an overriding safety focus will be critical to your success in this position.
The following qualifications and skillsets are required/desirable for success in the role:
Current QLD Electrical Workers license.
Current Electrical Switchboard and Resuscitation certificate (Required).
Current Driver’s license (Required).
Ability to fault-find and interpret Electrical schematic drawings (Required).
Construction Industry Induction training (White card) (Required).
EI High Voltage Switching (Preferred).
Electrical Fixed Plant or processing equipment experience (Preferred).
Experience with PLC, Citect, and autonomous equipment (Preferred).
Experience with SCADA (Preferred).
Ability to work shift and day only rosters (equal time).
Solid time management skills and ability to prioritize.
