We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer to join our team at the World Super Cross Championships coming up at HBF Park!
This vital role will focus on maintaining and enhancing safety practices on-site, ensuring the health and safety of all workers.

MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE BELOW SHIFTS Tuesday 19th November - 9AM - 5PM Wednesday 20th November - 7am - 5pm Thursday 21st November - 7am - 7pm Friday 22nd November - 7am - 10pm Saturday 23rd November - 8am - 10pm Sunday 24th November - 9am - 8pm Monday 25th November - 7am - 5pm Key Responsibilities: Review & Approve Safety Plans : Review and approve contractors' safety plans, documentation, and risk assessments, ensuring all safety protocols are in place before work begins.
Safety Advice & Consultation : Provide expert safety advice and establish clear consultation processes for workers to address any safety concerns.
Safety Reporting : Report to WSX Management on all safety matters, identifying risks, opportunities for improvement, and corrective actions.
Solution-Based Approach : Proactively address safety issues on-site, offering practical solutions and ensuring that safety is always a priority.
Legal Compliance : Determine the legal safety requirements for various work activities or trades, ensuring all operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Safety Inspections : Conduct regular site safety inspections, document findings, and address potential hazards or unsafe practices.
Safety Documentation : Maintain accurate records, including safety reports, incident investigations, hazard reports, inspections, and corrective actions taken.
Toolbox Talks : Facilitate regular toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure that all staff, contractors, and suppliers are aware of safety expectations.
Safety Inductions : Organize and conduct project-specific safety inductions for new workers, contractors, and site visitors.
Incident Investigations : Investigate any safety incidents or near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Stakeholder Communication : Communicate safety-related matters effectively with staff, contractors, suppliers, and local authorities as needed.
Maintain Safe Workplace : Continuously promote and uphold sound safety practices, creating a culture of safety throughout the project.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven Experience : Experience in a similar safety role, ideally within construction, industrial, or large-scale event environments.
Knowledge of Regulations : Strong knowledge of local, national, and international health and safety regulations and standards.
Incident Investigation Skills : Experience in conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective measures.
Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and stakeholders.
Attention to Detail : High attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and hazards quickly and effectively.
Proactive & Solution-Oriented : Ability to take a solution-based approach to safety issues and promote continuous improvement.
