We are seeking a Child and Family health nurse to join our team and support the wellbeing of children and families in our community.About The RoleAs a Child and Family health Nurse, you will work within a primary health care team to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. Your role will focus on early childhood health checks, developmental screening, immunisations, and supporting parents and caregivers. You will also contribute to education programs, early intervention initiatives, and community engagement activities.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver culturally appropriate nursing care for children and familiesConduct child health assessments, screening for hearing, speech, and developmental concernsSupport mothers, fathers, and caregivers with early parenting guidanceWork collaboratively with Aboriginal health workers, midwives, and EDAS programsDevelop and deliver early childhood education workshops for families and the communityMaintain accurate client records and ensure appropriate referrals to specialist services if requiredWhat We’re Looking ForAHPRA Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1 years' experiencePostgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health nursing or near completionExperience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesStrong knowledge of early childhood health, development, and immunisationsExcellent assessment, communication, and care coordination skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a transdisciplinary teamCurrent Working with Children Check & Driver’s LicenseDesirableAuthorised Immunisation Provider or willingness to obtainExperience in care coordination, health education, and program developmentFamiliarity with local Aboriginal community networksWhy Join Us?Be part of an empowering, community-led organisationWork within a holistic, culturally safe frameworkEnjoy a supportive team environment with opportunities for growth & developmentMake a real difference in closing the gap for Aboriginal children and familiesIf you are passionate about early childhood health, culturally safe care, and community empowerment, we’d love to hear from you!
