Join a NSW Government Agency and lead impactful change while driving strategic communication initiatives across the organisation Program Manager Communications and Engagement | 3 Month Contract $80 – 90 p/h Super 3 Month Contract Olympic Park About the Role The role involves developing and executing communication plans and stakeholder management strategies throughout the project lifecycle. It is responsible for managing stakeholder interactions, liaising with relevant business areas, and overseeing internal communication strategies for the project. Key accountabilities include: Program Leadership: Provides strategic direction and guidance to the project team, overseeing communication efforts and ensuring the successful delivery of program outcomes. Prepares recommendations for the Executive Steering Committees, manages resources and priorities within budget, and promotes continuous improvement and quality assurance across the team. Change Management: Develops and drives sustainable change management strategies for the communication and engagement program, promoting collaboration. This involves identifying and overcoming resistance to change, evaluating potential impacts, creating risk mitigation plans, and managing the interdependencies and linkages across internal and external programs. Stakeholder Engagement: Creates and maintains clear communication channels and feedback systems at key stages of the program (initiation, design, implementation, and evaluation). Collects and evaluates stakeholder feedback to assess their understanding, engagement, and support, while developing collaborative strategies to integrate communications and engagement initiatives effectively. Relationship Management: Builds and sustains strong relationships within the Agency, as well as with external agencies, industrial bodies, and other relevant stakeholders. Manages stakeholder expectations and facilitates smooth communication, cooperation, and information exchange throughout the project lifecycle. Subject Matter Expertise: Brings specialized knowledge in project and change management to the development of communication and engagement strategies. Keeps the program on track and shares insights to strengthen the Agencies internal capabilities in project management, change, and business continuity. Provides strategic counsel to the executive team on communications and engagement initiatives. Project Management and Governance: Manages all aspects of communications project management, including stakeholder engagement, attending project meetings, and ensuring accurate reporting and record-keeping. Collaborates with the team to create and track project plans, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget. About You Demonstrated experience at a senior level in the development and management of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies, preferably for projects in an organisation with multiple external stakeholders Sound knowledge of the workings of Government and the key factors leading to improved project and community outcomes Demonstrating experience working in a complex environment, communicating, advising and influencing senior managers and stakeholders to meet the project needs in a timely and outcomes-focused manner. Demonstrated experience in facilitating change, analysing problems, developing effective solutions and resolving conflicting priorities in a health or corporate services context.
