The Role The Assistant Accountant will play a vital role in preparing management accounts for a diverse portfolio of managed properties. This position offers the chance to develop accounting skills, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the success of a thriving finance department. Key Responsibilities: Prepare month-end financial reports, including income journals, bank reconciliations, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements. Collaborate with Property Managers to review accounts and assist with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Manage financial processes for community programs, including reconciliations and reporting. Perform inter-company reconciliations, corporate credit card processing, and debtor management. Provide ad-hoc reporting support to the finance team and coverage for Accounts Payable and Trust Accountant roles when required. Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting) with a strong academic record. Prior experience in a corporate environment, such as a junior or graduate accounting role, is desirable. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
