Drysdale Primary School is situated on the Bellarine Peninsula, 25 minutes drive from Geelong, and is a well-regarded primary school with a current enrolment of 365 students. The school was established in 1875 and will soon be commemorating its 150 years. Its vision is to be a fully inclusive school providing the highest quality of education for each one of its students in their academic learning, personal development, and the development of their individual skills.Currently, the school has 2 Prep classes, 4 Year 1/2 classes, 4 Year 3/4 classes, and 5 Year 5/6 classes with a staffing profile of Principal, Assistant Principal, 21 Class Teachers (including part-time staff and tutors), 3 Administrative staff, and 15 Education Support staff.To support the continued success and progress of learning across the school, teachers are involved in four School Improvement Teams for English, Mathematics, Wellbeing, and Inquiry Learning & Sustainability. The school has a qualified, full-time social worker who supports the engagement and wellbeing of students across the school, providing proactive intervention through growth mindset, social skill, and other support programs. Education Support staff are trained to lead an Oral Language Program to support the literacy and phonological awareness development of students across the school, as well as having two tutors as part of the Tutor Learning Initiative.The school offers considerable support through our quality teaching programs at all ability levels. A high proportion of students achieve standards more than the state expectation, with many of our Year 5/6 students participating in the High Abilities Program each term.Drysdale Primary School currently offers four specialist programs - Physical Education, Indonesian, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.
