Experienced maintenance professional required to manage planned and unplanned maintenance for a leading food manufacturer An excellent career opportunity for an experienced Maintenance professional to join a high-quality food manufacturer, experiencing an exciting period of growth and expansion, as their Site Maintenance Manager. A leading brand in their market segment and based in the vibrant Inner South-Eastern Sydney area, nearby to M8/M5/M4 entry/exits, you'll be joining a highly regarded and rapidly growing business in the food industry. Managing a small and agile maintenance team, you will be responsible managing preventative maintenance across the entire site, repair and install of all plant machinery, equipment and purchasing of parts to ensure the facility is operating efficiently, 24x7. Success in this role requires effective staff management, maintenance planning, budget control, purchasing, quality control, and supervising contractors. The successful person will Hold recognised trade qualifications and significant hands-on maintenance and maintenance management experience. Experience in the management of maintenance team and sub-contractors for weekly, monthly and annual preventative maintenance of all machines, ovens, conveyors and building facilities; with the intention of minimising out of hours call outs and breakdowns. Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems to make recommendations for corrective action and implements and replacement when necessary. Organize and supervise external contractors for inspection and scheduled and reactive maintenance of machines and plant equipment outside of inhouse technical ability. Organise planned major annual maintenance for major equipment as required. Develop and recommend changes to existing methods and systems to increase the accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness of the equipment in production department. Ensure that the workplace, methods, system and procedures are safe. Support the Quality agenda across the broader business. Identify opportunities for best practice and continuous improvement and communicate effectively within the organization. Demonstrate commitment to meeting food safety and quality standards. Comply with HACCP principles and requirements within the product protection environment. Complete any special projects as required by senior leadership team Manage the scope, schedule and budget of maintenance projects as required. Coordinate the implementation of maintenance software database and log for all equipment. Recommend investments in cutting edge technologies and promote continuous improvement across all operations. Manage KPls to ensure company profitability targets can be achieved. With future scope for interstate travel, and smaller multi-site maintenance requirements from time to time, the right applicant will be experienced in food manufacturing maintenance at a supervisor or above level, with skills and expertise to lead and manage the function, with preparedness to also be hands on when required.
