We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our payroll team.
About the Role
This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled professional to manage end-to-end payroll, compliance, and projects for clients. You will work independently with your own portfolio of clients, utilizing your expertise to deliver accurate results and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Payroll Processing: Prepare and process weekly, fortnightly, or monthly payrolls for clients, including permanent and casual staff.
* Employee Records: Maintain and update employee personal records accurately.
* Payroll Advice: Provide expert advice on payroll-related queries to clients and staff.
* Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll tax, PAYG, Workers Compensation, and other compliance returns.
* Reconciliations: Conduct payroll reconciliations regularly.
* Audit and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations regarding payroll tax, work cover, and superannuation.
* Project Work: Engage in project work involving payroll system implementation and redesigning legacy processes.
Requirements
* Prior Experience: Significant experience in payroll, compliance, and submission of payroll tax, work cover, and superannuation.
* Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of payroll processing.
* Excel Skills: Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs.
* Multitasking: Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
* Award Knowledge: Sound knowledge of Award structures.
