Clinical Nurse Consultant A or B (dependent upon experience)
This position is to act as a key member of the multidisciplinary continence team, supporting excellence in clinical practice and ensuring that the philosophy of nursing and standards of practice are reflected in continence management. The position will involve assessing client continence function, developing client centred care plans and completing appropriate intervention. The position will involve both home visits and centre based assessments, across a range of Commonwealth and State Government funding streams including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Maximising clients’ independence and autonomy is a key principle of service delivery within the Continence Service. Specialist Continence Nurses are encouraged to work within a strength based approach framework to build on a clients’ capacity to achieve their goals and remain living safely within our community.
The preferred applicant will have:
* Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
* Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills in continence management
* Demonstrated assessment skills
* Advanced knowledge of bladder and bowel dysfunction and catheter related issues
* Competent and confident in catheter care / management
* Excellent interpersonal, communications and networking skills with the ability to quickly establish relationships with clients, service providers and stakeholders.
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
