Health, Safety & Environment (Construction) Full time JOHNEX explosives is a 100% Australian owned manufacturer and distributor of innovative explosives.Due to the rapid expansion and diversification of the company, our Perth WA Head Office is currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated person to assist in the management of our internal IT infrastructure and software systems.The SHEQ Advisor is responsible for supporting health, safety, and environmental processes across the business, with a focus on developing procedures, auditing, and leading improvements at manufacturing sites.Key Responsibilities: Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management System.Maintain HSE compliance within the ISO Quality Management System and coordinate external audits.Conduct and coordinate regular inspections and audits across all operations, report findings, and recommend corrective actions for continuous improvement.Manage the SafeX incident management system, including conducting investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.Coach and advise staff to improve their understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality matters.Promote awareness of Major Hazards, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality issues to foster a culture of continuous improvement.Develop risk management, crisis management, and emergency response plans aligned with the company's risk tolerance.Maintain and monitor hazard/risk management procedures to identify and control risks.Conduct regular site visits to production, operational facilities and projects across Australia.Lead and conduct HAZOP studies as required.Engage with the State Regulator regarding MHF licence compliance.Assist the compliance advisor with AN, ANE, and Explosive storage licence applications and submissions.Manage and liaise with state environmental regulators regarding activities licence renewals and site visits.Track historical trends to ensure excellent production and environmental performance.Represent the company at industry meetings, communicate outcomes to stakeholders.Assist with Research and Development projects and participate in ISO 9001 quality assurance training.Identify personal development opportunities to enhance skills and expand industry networks.Ensure the document control process is followed and regularly updated.Demands: Flexible working hours to meet business deadlines.Attendance at relevant industry seminars, meetings and functions.Ongoing training to enhance skills.Monthly interstate travel (1-2 weeks per month) is essential; possible international travel may be required.Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary qualification in WH&S with practical training experience.Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (desirable).Strong knowledge of Australian Safety, Dangerous Goods, and Explosive legislation and standards.Qualified internal auditor for ISO 9000.Advanced written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Skills and Competencies: Extensive training and assessment experience.Strong coaching and mentoring skills.Excellent personal presentation and communication skills.Highly developed written, oral, and electronic communication skills.Ability to work effectively with regulators.Strong initiative, accountability, and integrity.Commitment to the company's purpose and core values.Ability to work autonomously and manage deadlines.Strong problem-solving skills related to equipment and manufacturing processes.Excellent ability to develop engagement from stakeholders.To be shortlisted for the position you are required to have, or obtain: Current "Fit for work" mine site medical certificate.A remuneration package is to be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on qualifications.If you have the necessary skill set and wish to join a vibrant team that is driven by our PICT core values of Professionalism, Innovation, having a Can-do Attitude, and being Trustworthy we would like to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
