About the role:
Seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join our Rural Allied Health Team (RAHT) in a senior position. This new role has been developed in response to the further expansion of the RAHT service.
The RAHT assists older people, people with a disability and people with chronic health conditions to remain living at home. Our aim is to help promote patient quality of life, independence and participation in activities. The team also supports carers.
In this role you will provide clinical expertise to complex cases, support staff supervision and be responsible for the planning, review and implementation of quality initiatives to enhance the delivery of high-quality Occupational Therapy services within the RAHT service model. The role is a chance to grow your clinical leadership skills and gain exposure in management for career advancement opportunities.
You will work autonomously, undertake a varied and diverse workload and provide interventions in predominately home based settings, making a true difference to our client’s independence and well-being. There is no nursing home work.
You will report to the RAHT Manager whilst providing high quality social work services consistent with the Occupational Therapy Australia code of ethics and practice standards to clients within the local community.
The Occupational Therapist will provide person-centred care with an opportunity to:
Travel across the Goulburn Valley region working in home and clinic settings
Work with clients, carers and families to provide practical solutions to promote independence and safety at home
Develop goals and care plans to assist clients to remain at home and active in their local community
Complete equipment prescriptions, home modifications, advise on pressure care management/seating, develop in home and community based therapy based programs
Provide clinical leadership, support and guidance to Occupational Therapy staff
Participate in and lead quality improvement and service development activities
Lead and support the development of competencies and capabilities to achieve optimal consumer outcomes
Apply evidence-based practice and innovative solutions to enhance clinical effectiveness, service efficiencies and the quality of service provided to consumers
Undertake staff supervision to ensure safe and effective care and optimal client outcomes
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with:
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent and eligibility for membership of professional association
Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience working within home, group and community settings delivering services to consumers with complex presentations
Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services, (including clinical practice and models of care) with the application of evidence-based approaches and quality improvement frameworks
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including computer literacy, and the ability to produce well written reports, guidelines and procedures
A clear/satisfactory National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening (NDIS) Check upon commencement
