About the Role
Grampians Health is providing a life changing opportunity for a number of enthusiastic, passionate and motivated individuals to start a career in Nursing through our innovative Enrolled Nurse Trainee program. The program will commence on 3rd February 2025 and complete on or around 29th January 2027.
The successful applicants will be enrolled in a Diploma of Nursing through Federation TAFE and on completion of this program will be a qualified Enrolled Nurse.
As a trainee you will work 5 days per week, with 3 of these days being spent in a learning environment completing the theoretical component of your new role. The other 2 days will be spent putting your learning into practice whilst being supported by the largest nursing workforce in the Grampians region.
There are 2 programs available within Grampians Health:
* Ballarat based program; Trainees will work and attend a combination of face-to-face classes within Ballarat (either at Federation University or Grampian Health Ballarat sites), and online classes.
* Wimmera based program; Trainees will work at selected facilities in Horsham, Stawell, Edenhope and Dimboola and attend a combination of face-to-face classes at Federation University Horsham, and online classes.
Clinical Placements will require travel to Ballarat.
Please be aware that both the Ballarat and Wimmera programs may include some online class time.

Qualifications & Experience
* Evidence of achievement of a minimum Level 4 in each component of Language, Literacy, & Numeracy testing (completed on TAFE enrolment process)
* Be eligible for Australian government Apprenticeship Incentive program
* Previous experience working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage
* Must have Working with Children check – volunteer
* 18 years and over
Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills
* Basic computer knowledge and keyboard skills at a minimum.
* Managing Work (includes Time Management) – Effectively managing one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
* Access to reliable technology to attend online classes and complete learning and assessments.
Working environment
* Ability to work 2 (8 hour) days per week including AM and PM shifts (first 6 months within Monday- Friday) rotating onto weekend roster thereafter and 3 days per week 9.00am to 3.30pm (within Monday-Friday) in a classroom environment. There will be some blended delivery, therefore you need access to attend these classes online.
* Ballarat Traineeship: Reliable transport and the ability to work from various GH work locations across Ballarat.
* Wimmera Traineeship: be willing to travel to Ballarat for clinical placements. Essential to be able to attend classes at Horsham Federation University campus.
