Rheinmetall Defence Australia Pty Ltd in BrisbaneThe Supplier Quality Engineers work alongside Supplier Development Engineers and the team reports through to our Supplier Quality Engineer Manager. At RDA, our Supplier Quality Engineers work closely with the greater Quality team, as well as Procurement, Production and Engineering, as well as being front facing to our suppliers. This role will be based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank.About the RoleWe have multiple Supplier Quality Engineer positions available and will be considering applicants from a mechanical or electrical background.The Supplier Quality Engineer role is responsible for optimizing the quality planning process, specifically in relation to project-related parts, services and suppliers. This role works closely with Rheinmetall’s suppliers to ensure their performance is monitored, reported, analysed and documented, with improvement priorities being effectively identified and implemented across the supplier base.The role plans and conducts supplier audits and assessments and fosters the application of effective process planning and verification techniques within the supplier base to achieve consistent supply outcomes.As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:Conduct supplier audits in accordance with the VDA 6.3 standard to ensure products and process quality and compliance;Assist with choosing, evaluating and approving new supplies;Manage First Article Inspections (FAI) activities to evaluate compliance and ensure quality for both parts and assemblies;Guide suppliers in process implementation and ensure they are fully prepared for production launch;Ensure non-conformance are documented, resolved, and prevent future issues through cross-functional problem-solving e.g. (8D Report);Track and follow-up on improvement actions from audit findings and non-conformances;Monitor and report supplier performance.What are we looking for?Rheinmetall seeks applicants who exemplify our Company’s values of Safety, Partnering, Openness, Respect and Trust (SPORT). This creates a workplace environment where employees value each other, live up to their promises and communicate openly.The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:3+ Years or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Manufacturing discipline, providing a solid technical background;Proven experience working in a similar role and engaging with external suppliers;Extensive Quality management, planning and auditing experience;Experienced in deploying Quality tools and techniques;Extensive experience conducting Audits and managing improvement programs;Industry experience in heavy vehicle, defence, automotive is (highly desirable);Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;Ability to travel extensively interstate and international when required; andMust hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).You don't meet all the requirements, but you are keen to really make a difference and take on responsibility?
