Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated professional to drive business growth in the fisheries sector across Australia and the South Pacific. This role combines sales, technical expertise, and client engagement within a fisheries monitoring, conservation, and surveillance environment. Responsibilities include managing client relationships, responding to enquiries, coordinating sales and marketing efforts, and providing first-level technical support when required. The position involves both domestic and international travel.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and expand the fisheries market in Australia and the South Pacific region.
* Respond to enquiries from existing and potential clients.
* Drive sales and marketing initiatives, including attending exhibitions, conferences, and workshops.
* Liaise with regional fisheries management organisations, local resellers, distributors, and certified installers.
* Provide first-level technical support when necessary.
* Undergo training on company products and services, with potential international training opportunities.
* Travel domestically and internationally as required to support business development and client engagement.
* Contribute to fisheries monitoring, conservation, management, and surveillance initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualifications: Trade or degree qualifications in Engineering, Business, Marine Science, GIS, or a related discipline.
* Sales & Business Development: Experience in sales, marketing, or business development, ideally within the maritime, fisheries, or environmental sectors.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of technical products and services, with the ability to provide first-level support.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and technical writing.
* Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with fisheries monitoring, conservation, management, or surveillance is advantageous.
* Technology & Software: Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Office 365.
