This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Shop Detailer at FORGE.
The Senior Shop Detailer will be responsible for creating detailed fabrication drawings, conducting structural analysis, collaborating with the design team, and ensuring accuracy and quality in all fabrication projects.A vital member of the shop detailing team, a Structural Detailer Checker is responsible for checking the accuracy of 3D models and 2D detailed drawing of structural components for projects.
This role requires a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, excellent technical drawing skills, and the ability to work closely with other members of the design team and shop detailing manager.Main ResponsibilitiesEnsure the accuracy of the shop detailing output through reviews of the 3D models and 2D shop drawings to identify and address any errors.Review models to ensure they are completed to a high standard with minimal errors.Review shop drawings ensuring accuracy of shop detailing output.May be required from time to time to produce 3D models & 2D drawings to support the shop detailing team.Provide technical input or feedback where potential improvements can be made to improve design outcomes.Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.Ensure compliance with design documentation.QualificationsMin 5+ years in shop detailing & previous checking experience preferred.Extensive experience in shop detailing drafting & checking and strong understanding of architectural and construction drawings, and depth of experience with Advance Steel software.Depth of industry knowledge & experience across a wide variety of projects.Strong organisational skills with ability to optimise and prioritise conflicting demands.Good analytical skills and high attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Location is flexible to our main offices in Sydney (Norwest), Brisbane, and Victoria (Corio).
