We are searching for a skilled professional to be at the forefront of delivering high-quality electrical, instrumentation, and control system designs for our clients. This role isn't just about drawing—it's about driving excellence in our technical processes, leading design teams, and pushing the boundaries of design technology. Key Responsibilities Advanced Drawing Preparation: Develop, update, and manage intricate electrical and control system drawings including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&IDs, and Panel Arrangements using the latest AutoCAD and design tools. Site Inspections & Data Verification: Perform detailed site inspections to gather essential data and verify the accuracy of existing drawings and electrical schematics. Design Tool Administration: Lead the administration and continuous improvement of CAD infrastructure and design tool procedures, ensuring optimal performance and best practices across the team. Technical Training & Audits: Mentor and train new starters in AutoCAD and specialized design tools. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to design standards and identify areas for improvement. Collaborative Team Leadership: Work closely with drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while meeting all design specifications. Standards Compliance: Maintain consistency in design work, ensuring compliance with internal design standards and Australian Standards for electrical systems (AS/NZS). Required Skills & Qualifications Educational Background: Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Alternatively, an electrical trade qualification with strong industry experience. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in CAD Software: Advanced skills in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation are mandatory, along with experience in AVEVA Instrumentation or equivalent design tools. Instrumentation & Control Systems Design: Expertise in designing complex instrumentation and control systems for industrial or engineering applications. Electrical System Design: In-depth knowledge of electrical power systems, motor control centers, switchgear layouts, and instrumentation diagrams. Leadership & Project Management: Experience in overseeing, reviewing, and improving the design work of a team. Ability to lead design discussions, resolve complex technical issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Software Integration: Knowledge of integrating design tools with project management platforms, databases, or ERP systems for more efficient workflow management.
