Full time, fixed term up until June 2025 Base salary $121,508 - $137,032 plus 17% superannuation Hybrid working arrangements available About the opportunity The Archives and Record Management Services (ARMS) team are looking for a Privacy Advisor to make a major contribution to management of the University's privacy risk, implementing the University's privacy governance framework (privacy policy, procedures and guidelines) and promoting Privacy by Design (PBD) in the University's business systems and processes. The Privacy Advisor will undertake Privacy Impact Assessments where relevant and assist business system owners and academic and administrative units to enhance compliance with privacy legislation through the proactive provision of appropriate information and expert assistance. This role requires strong knowledge of relevant legislation (including recordkeeping) and high level communication, administrative and organisational skills in order to coordinate and undertake a range of operational activities related to privacy risk mitigation. Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide expert advice on compliance and privacy legislation Provide specialist services and operational support for the implementation of Privacy by Design Collaboratively liaise with key internal stakeholders and undertake privacy impact assessments for proposed new business systems and processes Contribute to the development and delivery of an ARMS privacy training and awareness program Prepare documentation relating to risk mitigation to support the implementation of the University's privacy governance framework, including developing tools for incorporating privacy risk assessments into project and BAU processes. About you Professional experience within tertiary education or government sector is desirable Proven experience working as a Privacy Advisor, or similar, working with privacy legislation within a large and multi-faceted organisation Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience drafting high level documents, providing excellent customer service and delivering presentations High level understanding of Privacy by Design and knowledge of access to information and recordkeeping legislation Knowledge of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Health Records and Personal Information Protection Act 2002.
