We are seeking dynamic and innovative Educators (teacher or tutor) to achieve outstanding results as a part of our industry leading, renowned organisation! As a Teacher of TAFE Queensland, you will contribute to developing and delivering quality learning, teaching and assessment to a wide range of clients through:
1. QCAA Senior Curriculum Years 11 & 12.
2. Building positive collaborative working relationships with students
3. Maintaining contemporary teaching methodologies and philosophies that engage young people.
4. Provide innovative teaching practices in a supply environment.
The position reports to the Education Team Leader and will be based primarily at Alexandra Hills however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
5. Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
6. Display teaching competence and a commitment to a student-centred approach.
7. Lead and manage effective teaching and learning within classroom, workplace, simulated and online learning environments with a focus on student engagement, progression and success.
8. Utilise flexible, blended, and inclusive learning techniques, options and products which are responsive to various student cohorts, including commencing students and those with priority needs.
9. Develop and implement assessment processes and tools that meet the Queensland College of Teaching standards (i.e. endorsement, confirmation, validation, and quality assurance practices) and participate in validation and internal moderation activities relating to assessment processes and practices.
10. Develop effective working relationships with students, client groups and staff by participating in team meetings, industry reference groups, student events and forums, inviting feedback and engaging in reflection.
11. Ensure that students adopt, and practise accepted safety procedures and sustainability in the learning and assessment environment.
12. Contribute to planning, design, development, implementation, and review of educational programs.
13. Participate in relevant professional learning activities to develop and maintain currency of personal and professional skills, knowledge and attitudes for both industry and learning, teaching, and assessment.
14. Undertake general administration duties including monitoring of student attendance and progression, facilitating access to educational support, and providing effective feedback and advice.
How you will be assessed
Within the context of the role description above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
15. Possess skills and knowledge of Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) senior school syllabus.
16. Demonstrate capacity for best practice in the management of teaching and learning activities including the development of industry relevant, flexible, innovative, technology enhanced learning options, training products and solutions.
17. Demonstrate capacity for initiative, self-management, teamwork and sustainable practice, with the ability to accept, promote and manage change through the use of well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
18. Demonstrate commitment to self-development with the focus on maintaining skills, contemporary industry and teaching practices and the use of educational technologies to support learning.
19. Possess sound knowledge of safe, equitable and anti-discriminatory work practices and demonstrate ability to be flexible, inclusive, responsive and deliver quality student experience.
20. Possess industry-specific skills and knowledge relevant to the course/program for which teaching is being provided.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
21. Must hold FULL registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
22. Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of QCAA and QCT requirements.
Highly Desirable Requirements
23. Experience working with young people aged 15 to 18 years in a senior studies (Year 11 and 12) school environment.
24. Experience working with QCAA curriculum – Year 11 & 12 (General English)
