Perinatal Infant Mental Health (PIMH) Supervisor Position Overview The Perinatal Infant Mental Health (PIMH) Supervisor at Pregnancy to Parenthood (P2P) plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of service delivery, providing clinical supervision and line management to PIMH Practitioners, and supervising students undertaking external placements at the P2P Clinic. This role includes undertaking triage, assessment, intervention, and case management with families presenting with complex mental health problems during the perinatal period (pregnancy to 2 years) and provides continuing care as part of a team. The role involves collaboration with the Clinical Director and engaging in interdisciplinary activities, professional development, and research initiatives within the PIMH community. The position also entails developing and delivering specialised PIMH training across Western Australia. This position will be based at our Gosnells Clinic; however, you may be required to work at other clinics in the Perth Metro area from time to time. Key Accountabilities Perform a clinical, consultant, and education perinatal infant mental health service with families, groups, other professionals, and organisational systems within a multidisciplinary and professional team context. Clinical Expertise and Supervision: Assist PIMH Practitioners and students in delivering services for complex case presentations, offering clinical expertise in PIMH through a co-therapy model. Provide reflective and clinical supervision to P2P staff (not limited to but including PIMH Practitioners, Home visitors), trainees, and external stakeholders such as Clinical Psychologist Registrars. Supervise External Placements: Oversee and coordinate graduate students undergoing field placements in PIMH at the P2P clinic. Foster effective relationships with universities to optimise outcomes for clients and students. Manage Practitioners and Students: Manage and supervise assigned PIMH Practitioners and graduate students placed within P2P for external practicum placements. Ensure alignment with course requirements, enhance outcomes for the students and clients, and fortify partnerships. Program Development, Training and Research: Actively participate in the development of P2P clinic programs, research initiatives, and other professional collaborations. Stakeholder Engagement: Contribute, under the guidance of the P2P Executive Director, to the effective functioning of P2P. Enhance its profile, build capacity to engage with external stakeholders, and cultivate relationships with agencies, funders, and potential partners. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with P2P policies, participate in planning activities, and adhere to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Equal Opportunity (EO) requirements, prioritising the safety and well-being of all stakeholders. Essential Criteria Relevant Qualifications and experience: Hold qualifications as a clinical psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, or other mental health professional and current AHPRA registration. Obtain and maintain eligibility or endorsement as an Infant Mental Health Practitioner and/or Mentor-Clinical from Australian Association for Infant Mental Health, WA Branch (AAIMH WA). Demonstrated specialised expertise in PIMH. AHPRA approved Clinical Psychologist Supervisor or eligible to apply. Professional indemnity insurance. Current working with children's check. PIMH Knowledge and Experience Specialised knowledge, skills, and expertise in perinatal infant mental health (PIMH) and knowledge and experience in providing PIMH Reflective Supervision within a PIMH training clinic. Demonstrated activities and participation in professional activities in PIMH field that support the development of evidence-based practice and community-based evaluations of PIMH practice and training models. Experience in clinical psychology and other relevant disciplines in PIMH and supervising students and/or registrars in a PIMH clinical and/or community setting. Knowledge of supervision guidelines as required by Psychology Board, AHPRA, and understanding of relevant course requirements. Desirable Criteria Up to date knowledge of emerging trends and advancements in the field, and ability to apply this knowledge to enhance the quality and effectiveness of clinical services.
