The Opportunity We're seeking an experienced Investment Manager – Direct Investments to join our high-performing Investment & Asset Management team.
Based in one of six major cities, you'll be responsible for the full investment lifecycle of direct investments in Commercial Residential Development or Renewable Energy projects.
You'll play a key role in identifying, evaluating, executing and managing investments and project finance transactions that generate commercial returns and positive social impact for Indigenous Australians.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute investment strategies aligned with IBA's mission.
Source and evaluate investment and project finance opportunities.
Conduct thorough due diligence, financial modelling and impact assessments.
Prepare and present recommendations to investment committees and the IBA Board.
Manage and monitor existing investments and loans, including governance, performance reporting, risk management, and divestments.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous stakeholders, commercial partners and government entities.
What You Bring At least 2 years' experience at a manager level in corporate finance, commercial transactions, private equity or similar.
Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
A tertiary qualification in commerce, economics, law, accounting, or related discipline is essential.
Additional professional qualifications (e.g.
CPA, CA, CFA, MBA, MAppFin, MCom) highly regarded.
Strong understanding of investment structures, project finance, legal documentation and corporate governance.
Commitment to working ethically and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with cultural capability and awareness of their economic aspirations.
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
