Valley Bake, is based in Gatton QLD, is a supermarket bakery specialising in retail bakery products. Our production includes bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, pies, sausage rolls, and seasonal items for our stores. We are currently looking for a Baker/ Pastry Chef to join our team. Our Baker/ Pastry Chef work a variety of shifts from Monday to Sunday. Responsibilities of our pastry chefs include, but are not limited to: Providing a high-quality product to meet changing customer needs Maintaining cleanliness & safety in our bakery Prepare and decorate pastries or cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream, fillings etc. Assisting with stock control & production expenses Design and/or improve recipes as directed Prepare custom-made products (e.g. various shapes, size & types of pastries), decorating these to requirements Design and/or improve recipes as directed Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, including croissants, cookies, muffins, sweet rolls or pie crusts Prepare, cook, combine and bake savoury items such as sausage rolls, pies, muffins, quiche, gluten free items etc as required Measure and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, heat sources and other equipment to make products Test ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls Keeping records relating to deliveries, inventory, cleaning and production levels as required and instructed Ensure proper procedures have been conducted as a part of the pastry team and/or individual tasks Report any equipment malfunction, low stock levels, incorrect orders and baking mistakes to the owner or manager in a timely manner Must be a qualified Pastry Chef or Baker In addition to the Base Salary, we offer incentive that help support growth within our Business.
