About the role
Mater Private Hospital Mackay has multiple exciting opportunities for an experienced, enthusiastic Enrolled Nurse to join the Perioperative Unit. This is a permanent part-time role. Our shifts are flexible; however, candidates must be available across ALL shift types, including early, late, night, and weekend shifts.
Working under supervision within the Day Surgery Unit, you will work as part of an established proactive team supporting Registered Nurses in the provision of safe, quality patient care.
The Mater Private Hospital Mackay has been providing excellence in clinical and pastoral care to the people of Mackay and its surrounds since 1927. Our hospital is a modern 105-bed facility featuring five operating theatres, a fully equipped day surgery unit, and a wide range of specialist clinical services.
Salary range: $35.88- $38.21 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and +
What you’ll be doing
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Utilising a structured approach carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients
2. Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions
3. Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
4. Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
5. Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
6. Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines
7. Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information
About you
To be successful in your application you will have:
8. Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)
9. Recent nursing experience in an acute hospital setting (at least 1-year post-graduate experience)
10. Prior experience in medication management
11. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
12. The ability to work well autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
