What you'll be doing
Your duties will include supply of inpatient and discharge medications, including outpatient PBS prescription processing. Other activities include compounding, inventory management, drug distribution and refilling of Pyxis Medstations on wards. Prior experience in Clinical Trials and aseptic/cytotoxic manufacturing is favourable.
The successful candidate will be paid as a pharmacy assistant or technician, depending on level of experience and training to qualify as a technician, must have completed Pharmacy Technician Certificate Level IV or equivalent as per NSW Health Employee’ (State) Award.
1. Completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy Assistance or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent (Technician grades only)
2. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities required to work in hospital pharmacy.
3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients and within a healthcare team.
4. Demonstrated organisational skills, meeting deadlines, attention to details and ability to work with minimal supervision.
5. Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment.
