The Team:
T he Engineering and Facilities team consist of multiple trade groups performing planned and reactive maintenance activities primarily to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The Electrical trades group consists of a Team leader, 4 qualified electricians and a trade assistant.
Regular on-call and works outside ordinary business hours are a requirement of the role. Ongoing training and professional development is encouraged and supported as appropriate to the role and the Team.
As a member of the Engineering and Facilities team, the occupant is responsible for the repair and installation of electrical trade related plant, equipment, services, and facilities within the departments area of responsibility.
The Role:
As a member of the Engineering and Maintenance team, the occupant is responsible for:
* Repairing and installing all electrical trade related plant, equipment, services and facilities within the Department’s area of responsibility.
* Supervising and coordinating electrical trades and operational staff to ensure effective and efficient services are provided.
* Managing and coordinating trade services including maintenance of specialised equipment, the reliability of all electrical equipment and services, high voltage and low voltage supply systems, control systems, specialised health facility systems, emergency power and lighting systems in accordance with statutory requirements as required for health care facilities.
* Ensuring all plant and equipment under the control of this position is maintained in accordance with mandatory, statutory and local requirements.
* Demonstrated sound experience in, and extensive knowledge of electrical trade services, including ability to modify, commission, repair and maintain services and equipment within a health care environment.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise own work, and the work of other trades staff, to accomplish project time frames, and make responsible recommendations along with the ability to keep and maintain records and produce reports.
* Demonstrated experience in effectively managing a trades team to achieve service delivery and organisational objectives including the ability to motivate trades team to produce an effective work output without direct supervision.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

* Current relevant Practitioner’s Licence recognised by the Department of Justice, Tasmania
