Traineeship Administration Assistant - 2025 Intake
As a Business Administration trainee, you will be based within our Open Space and Recreation Unit for two years. As a trainee, you will be provided with training and support by an experienced supervisor who will mentor you throughout the traineeship. You will get both on the job work experience and a nationally recognised qualification, as you will complete a Certificate IV in Business Administration. This will ensure you gain valuable skills and experience to help you commence a career in business environment.
The objective of our program is for you to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to complete the program, with a view to establishing a career in an administrative area.

About the program
This traineeship will be based in our Open Space and Recreation Unit for two years and offered training under the instruction of an experienced supervisor. You will be supported and mentored through your traineeship with both your hands on work and throughout the course of study. This program requires you to complete the Certificate IV in Business Administration and along the way you will gain valuable skills and experience to be able to commence a career in business administration. Council offers an excellent development program with exposure to many elements of the job throughout the course.
The Central Coast Council Traineeship program requires the successful applicant to enter a training contract for:
* Two (2) years commencing in January 2025.
You will be provided with individual training plans and are required to undertake and complete the qualification at either a NSW TAFE campus or through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Interviews for this position will be held the week beginning the 2nd December 2024.
To be successful in the traineeship, you will have:
* Minimum education requirement - Completed HSC by January 2025.
* Meet the screening requirement for registration as a Trainee qualification (previous completion of Vocational Training Advisory Board (VTAB) Accredited Certificate II, III or IV may disqualify application for traineeship).
* Capacity to undertake training to obtain qualification in Certificate IV in Business Administration.
* A keen interest in developing your skills in the business administration area.
* Some practical relevant work experience and/or knowledge or be undertaking additional relevant learning in the area.
* A passion for the importance of being a team player in a highly team focused organisation.
* A commitment to completing the required studies.
* A willingness to learn from others to further your career.
* Strong customer service skills with an ability to provide the best quality service to the Central Coast.

Other important information
* The salary range for these positions sit between $703 to $822 per week ($36.6K to $42.8K per annum) dependent on age + 11.5% Superannuation.
* This is a temporary full-time position.
* This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
* The location of this role will be at our Charmhaven Depot.
Selection Procedure
