The Canberra Racing Club is seeking a dynamic Marketing & Communications Coordinator (MCC) to join the team at Thoroughbred Park—home to some of Canberra’s premier events including the iconic Black Opal Stakes and Canberra Festival of Speed.About the Canberra Racing Club:Based at our home Thoroughbred Park, the Canberra Racing Club (CRC) is the Principal Racing Authority responsible for Thoroughbred racing in the ACT and proudly serves as a leader in the community through racing, entertainment, and events.More than just a racecourse—Thoroughbred Park is a space where people connect, celebrate, and create memories.About the role:Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Communications (HCC), the MCC will drive the development and execution of marketing strategies, manage communications across various channels, and enhance the visibility of Thoroughbred Park’s racing and events businesses. The MCC will play a key role in promoting Thoroughbred Park’s brand, driving customer engagement, and supporting the growth of our events, including racing, festivals, and corporate functions.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote the Club's events and function centre, including digital and print advertising, social media, email marketing, and other channels.Manage race day activations aligned with Club strategy and brand.Manage the Club's brand identity and reputation, ensuring that all communication and marketing materials are consistent with the brand guidelines.Work closely with the media to promote the Club and its events in local and national media.Develop and manage budgets, ensuring that expenses are in line with revenue targets.Analyse and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communications activities, using data to inform future strategies and decisions.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the events team, to ensure that marketing and communications activities are aligned with the overall strategic goals of the Club.Oversee the management of the Club's social media channels and website, ensuring that content is timely, engaging, and aligned with the Club's brand identity.Oversee the development and production of marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, and posters.Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, using data and analytics to drive continuous improvement.Collaborate with external agencies, such as graphic designers and media planners, to ensure that all marketing materials and campaigns are of high quality and meet the Club's standards.Assist with aspects of the Thoroughbred Racing operations as required.Manage and expand the Club’s digital database.About you:You're a storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings both creative flair and strategic thinking to the table.
