Job Summary
* Our client is going through an exciting period of digital reform and innovation, undertaking a 5-year digital transformation journey. They are looking for an Enterprise Platform Lead.
* The Enterprise Platform Lead plays a crucial role within the Enterprise Platform business unit, partnering with key departments to manage technology demand and drive strategic innovation. This position is responsible for overseeing all applications and technology.
* Driving the best possible customer experiences comes from understanding and anticipating their needs.
* This position is responsible for the overall management, efficiency and operation of the platform entity (group of technology focused on business outcome). They will work with the Product Manager and Product owners track and optimise the flow of value from the Platform Entity and drive the team to deliver the prioritised outcomes for their customers.
* This role will be required to work with multiple vendors to support functions including performance and maintenance for platform entity, leadership and guidance of technical and functional system personnel involved with quality assurance, analysis, application development, change management, upgrades, and implementations.
* The position will need to be cognisant of multiple domains and interdependencies, not all of which are under the remit of this position. This role will need to manage the diverse teams and appropriate vendor relationships whilst delivering value to the business.
Responsibilities
* Leads and mentors the Platform Entity team, fostering a culture of accountability, customer, outcome focus and continual improvement
* Manages the Platform Entities approach to delivery of technology to support business the initiatives outlined operational and strategic business plans
* Demonstrates effective communication and positive working relationships with stakeholder and partners
* Participates and contributes to Enterprise Program/Service Roadmaps supporting the operational and strategic plans in collaboration with Business Leaders to enable benefits to be generated for the organisation.
* Monitors and improves the realisation of the Platforms Objectives, Key Results and Product performance, in alignment with the Platform Entity roadmap, maximising the flow of value by systematically measuring and removing impediments
* Works with Product owners to rationalise and maintain integrity of the technology
* Actively show leadership and involvement in collaborating across the business unit, upholding and improving the ways we work together.
* Supports and drives the adoption of agile and lean ways of working, agile delivery and solution improvement wherever appropriate to improve value throughput
* Strategically partners and builds strong relationships with vendors to deliver exceptional technology outcomes to the business, assessing performance contracted services
* Ensures the platform entity always has a current state architecture and target state roadmap, as well as the appropriate governance, customer engagement and appropriate resource to be successful
* Responsible for the platform entities delivery of backlogs of work in conjunction with the Product Managers, Product Owners and vendors, to ensure solutions are maintained in line with business demand expectations
Main Requirements
* At least five years of experience managing complex business-critical applications. Ideally have a minimum of five years of technical leadership experience, including technical architecture, application management practices, coaching and mentoring teams in medium to large environments.
* Expertise in vendor and contract management, preferably within a government setting, and the ability to ensure platforms are highly available, resilient, and secure by engaging with business and vendors.
* Skilled at managing high-profile, critical technical issues with Managed Service Providers and other vendors, working closely with the business to align technology and support with priorities and outcomes.
* A natural leader who champions change, develops people, can manage large and diverse teams and communicate effectively with all staff levels, including senior management.
